Brian Crouse
Any issues with booking? Please contact me, I can help! Brian’s approach to massage is based on anatomy, physiology, and good communication. His treatments don’t follow a cookie-cutter approach, and could vary greatly to meet the needs of what’s going on in your body in this moment. He's comfortable working with both deeper and lighter pressure. He values the education aspect of bodywork and will help to make sure you understand what’s happening in your treatment. He gets excited answering any anatomy questions you may have! Brian has a few specializations. He specializes in TMJ/TMD treatments, and has seen in clinical practice how effective TMJ treatment can be for jaw pain. He also specializes in gentle myofascial release, which engages the fascia, or connective tissue, and can be an effective component of treatment for long-term change. He is trained to work with scar tissue adhesion release, and is happy to offer treatments on scars, including post-surgical scar tissue. For example, this can include post-op care for gender-affirming surgery, joint replacements, chest or abdominal surgery, and C-sections. He also really enjoys working with sensitive whiplash and concussion injuries, sports injuries and athletes, back pain, anxiety, postural stress, and systemic nervous system conditions (such as MS, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s). Brian’s other educational background is in physics and geography, and he since spent several years working in the non-profit world doing social justice facilitation, both of which inform his practice of massage. He practices yoga, loves to cycle and hike, and is passionate about how people learn to move their bodies, safely and with grace, at all stages of life. Brian graduated from ICT Northumberland College for Massage Therapy with honours in spring 2021, and is a member in good standing with MTANS. Brian is in the office Tuesday-Friday.
